You do realize it’s not good enough to just write your blog post, don’t you?
Yeah, I know, you just spent an hour researching your analytics to find the best topic to feed the cravings of all those bouncers. And another couple of hours in keyword research and competitive analysis to make sure you have a chance in hell to be found. And then four hours writing the darn thing.
And now you’re tired. Your mind is numb. And you just want to go to bed.
But you’ve really only just begun. You do know that, don’t you?
How do expect to get any traffic if you go to bed. Now’s when you need to share, and tweet, and bookmark, and comment in blogs and forums and start a relevant discussion in LinkedIn so you can slip a link to your blog in there.
What do you mean you want to go to bed?
All right. All right. Don’t get worked up in a tizzy. I’m about to make it easy on you.
Now don’t think for a minute you don’t have to do those other things, but this one little trick will get you partway there. (I learned this, by the way, from Steve Wiideman of Creative Search Strategies.) According to Steve – and others I might add – there are hundreds of websites out there just waiting to consume and display your blog content? It’s true.
That means you can let them do the work, and you can go to bed!
So here’s how you do it.
Log into your WordPress admin, go to Settings, then Writing, then paste the following list in the Update Services box. That’s all there is to it!
Did you do it?
You did? Great! Now go to sleep. When you wake up your blog post will be the talk of the town.
